The treasure of the Guild of salt panners ("Halloren") - The following tasks you have to solve!

Hallenser (the inhabitants of the town Halle), Halloren and Hallunken (rogues) … …this enumeration you can sometimes hear in conversations, but mostly not from hallenser. Also the name “Hallunken” means not the basis for an assessment of the inhabitants of the town Halle, because those have long ago prove through theire diligence the opposite. But the names Halloren and Hallenser are absolut right. The Halloren lived only in Halle and they are considered in a vast distance to be a known ancient celebrity of these town. Close to the banks of the Saale was a hidden salt layer, deep under the ground of the town Halle, where saltwater came on the surface. The water of these sources of saltwater was led in the near river. Because of this the name Saale already excist in the past. The natural treasure was a use for the people in these area (the Hallenser), because the salt was known and valued as a natural spice. The sources of salt were built as springs – “Borne”. The high salt content of the water was boiled and then made into snow-white table salt. The salty past explains how the town’s coat of arms is created. It’s a grain of salt (the star above the “moon”) which is won in a dish (half-moon) over a fire (the star under the dish).

The legend is telling… …that a long time ago a herdsmen tended his pigs on this place where later stood the Salzkoten of the Halloren – circa there where is today the Hallmarkt. On this day, there was temperatures in the high eighties, and so a pig, which search cooling, wallowed in a pool of water. When the sun dried the pig, on the skin were many little cristals. The herdsmen saw the glitter in the sun and was surprised. He tried it and found out that it was salt. He told it to the people in the settlement and those began to dig. Then came more from this saltwater out of the ground. Because of this discovery Halle became gradually a rich town.

The saltworks At the coordinates N51 28.911 E011 57.577 you find a plate which is telling the history of the saltworks of Halle. 1868 the Pfännerschaft of Halle took over the saltworks from the government of Preußen and made many things new to raise and extend the production. One figure is not in the 8 hidden dates. This is figure A!

The Halloren- and Salinemuseum... …was opened at 1967 and has many important historical utensils from the salty past from Halle and the Halloren. When you came at the right time you can see apart from Schausieden, where the salt would win how in earlier times, also the treasure of silver from the Halloren! In this museum you get to know how many buttons a Hallore has on his bib. The number of the buttons is B! The opening hours you can see at the picture!

The costums of the Halloren Near the museum you find 5 pictures from typical costums of the Halloren. This costums were celebrate at official occasions and are today shown with proud of the Salzwirker-Brüderschaft which last since 1524. At the picture you can see a word.
